The team at Unified used Pearl to successfully identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent RE47612, U.S. Patent 8,949,206, U.S. Patent 9,654,333, and U.S. Patent 10,225,173, owned by NovaCloud Licensing LLC, an NPE. The ‘612 patent generally relate to a streaming server and a method for providing a content stream with advertisements embedded therein through a network to a client. The ‘206 patent focuses on a method and system for creating multiple descriptor files for adaptive bit rate streaming of master content files. The ‘333 patent relates to a system for selecting the optimal processing unit for deploying applications or virtual images based on application-specific network load demands and the network capacity of available paths. U.S. Patent 9,821,668 generally focuses on optimizing the total recharge time for energy storage devices in electric vehicles (EVs). U.S. Patent 9,975,439 generally uses a bi-directional buck/boost converter, the system adeptly manages energy transfer between a vehicle battery and an external source or an electric motor. U.S. Patent 10,291,158 generally manages power flow between the motors and the ESS, enabling different modes of operation such as driving the vehicle with both motors, using one motor to drive and the other as a generator, and managing energy storage with batteries and ultracapacitors. U.S. Patent 10,374,529 generally integrates an energy storage system (ESS), a power conversion system, and two motor/generators, each connected to a transmission or power split device.
