On August 28, 2026, two months after Unified filed two separate ex parte reexaminations, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted both of Unified’s requests, finding substantial new questions of patentability on all challenged claims of U.S. Patent 11,356,947 and U.S. Patent 12,167,415, owned by Wilus Institute of Standards & Technology, Inc., an entity of Good Day to Invent, Inc. The '415 and '947 patents relate to allocation of bandwidth in wireless communications using a non-contiguous channel, based on information in HE-SIG-A and HE-SIG-B subfields in received packets. These technologies relate to Wi-Fi 6 enabled devices (802.11ax). The filings are part of Unified’s ongoing efforts in the SEP Wi-Fi Zone.
