On December 29, 2025, two months after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims (1-6, 12-17) of U.S. Patent 10,567,047, owned and asserted by Wilus Institute of Standards & Technology, Inc., an entity of Good Day to Invent, Inc. The '047 patent is generally directed to Wi-Fi 6 devices configured to information in the HE-SIG-A field of an HE MU PPDU to understand the configuration of the HE-SIG-B field when using full bandwidth MU-MIMO. This challenge is part of Unified’s Wi-Fi zone and was the fourth reexamination filing against Wilus this year.
