On January 20, 2023, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) issued a final written decision in Unified Patents, LLC v. DivX, LLC holding all challenge claims of U.S. Patent 10,326,987 unpatentable. Owned by DivX, LLC, an affiliate of SoftBank Group Corp, this filing is part of Unified's ongoing efforts in its SEP Video Codec Zone. The '987 patent was asserted against Hulu and is directed to encoding alternative streams of video for use in adaptive bitrate streaming.
