Second Atlas Global Wi-Fi patent challenged

On January 21, 2026, Unified filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 10,965,425, owned and asserted by Atlas Global Technologies, LLC, an NPE and Acacia Research entity. The ‘425 patent is generally directed to allocating and signalling the allocation of a special center 26-tone resource unit when employing 80 MHz or higher bandwidths in OFDMA wireless communications. The patent is currently being asserted against HPE, accusing access points that support Wi-Fi 6.

Key Patent Innovations entity, Valtrus Innovations, litigation analysis available

Valtrus Innovations Limited, backed by Irish patent monetization platform Key Patent Innovations, has rapidly developed multiple parallel assertion programs built on large tranches of acquired assets, targeting cloud, data center, storage, and open‑source‑related technology.

The Valtrus campaign is supported by a sophisticated financing structure and an experienced assertion team. It has already generated a dense landscape of district court litigation, IPRs, declaratory judgement and reexamination activity that Unified has analyzed to better inform its members on strategy for dealing with the infringement and licensing demands Valtrus and its affiliates are currently asserting.

Tir Technologies media streaming patents prior art found

The team at Unified IP Services used Pearl to successfully identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent 8,792,347, U.S. Patent 9,800,633, U.S. Patent 10,375,444, and U.S. Patent 10,484,442 owned and asserted by Tir Technologies Limited, an NPE and entity of Atlantic IP Services Limited. The patents generally relate to media content delivery features within various platforms. The patents are currently asserted against Meta Platforms, Amazon, Comcast Cable Communications, The Walt Disney Company, and Netflix.

NovaCloud networking patents prior art found

The team at Unified IP Services used Pearl to successfully identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent RE47612, U.S. Patent 8,949,206, U.S. Patent 9,654,333, and U.S. Patent 10,225,173, owned by NovaCloud Licensing LLC, an NPE. The ‘612 patent generally relate to a streaming server and a method for providing a content stream with advertisements embedded therein through a network to a client. The ‘206 patent focuses on a method and system for creating multiple descriptor files for adaptive bit rate streaming of master content files. The ‘333 patent relates to a system for selecting the optimal processing unit for deploying applications or virtual images based on application-specific network load demands and the network capacity of available paths. The ‘173 patent introduces a method and system for enhancing network virtualization support through elasticity - the ability of network resources to dynamically expand or contract.

The ‘612 patent has been asserted against Amazon and Charter Communications. The ‘206 patent has been asserted against Charter Communications, Amazon, and Meta. The ‘333 patent has been asserted against Meta. The ‘173 patent has been asserted against Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta.
