The team at Unified IP Services is using Pearl to identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent 6,918,082, owned by Lone Star Document Management, LLC, an NPE and entity of Jeffrey M. Gross. The ‘082 patent is generally related to a system for reviewing, versioning, and commenting on electronic documents in portable document format (PDF) delivered over a network, such as the internet. The patent has been recently asserted against HCL America, Dropbox, Document Logistix, IBM, Atlassian, and Oracle.
Ascend Innovations entity, Byteweavr, cloud data patent found invalid
On December 30, 2025, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) entered a notice of intent to issue a reexamination certificate cancelling most of the claims of U.S. Patent 6,862,488, owned and asserted by Byteweavr, LLC, an NPE and Ascend Innovations entity. The ‘488 patent relates to automated validation and workflow management. It had been asserted against Databricks and Cloudera.

iScan2D Technologies device-pairing patent campaign - invalidity charts coming soon
The team at Unified IP Services is using Pearl to identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent 11,664,123, owned by iScan2D Technologies, LLC. The ‘123 patent is broadly directed to wirelessly pairing a “wearable activity device” and a “mobile device” with at least one “camera sensor” via a “color coded digital scannable media”. The patent has been asserted against Apple.
$2,000 awarded for IP Investments Group entity, eComm Innovations, web layout patent prior art

The '635 patent focuses on advancements in data processing, specifically aiming at improving layout and rendering techniques in web and print publishing.

Another Wilus Wi-Fi patent challenge instituted
On December 29, 2025, two months after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims (1-6, 12-17) of U.S. Patent 10,567,047, owned and asserted by Wilus Institute of Standards & Technology, Inc., an entity of Good Day to Invent, Inc. The '047 patent is generally directed to Wi-Fi 6 devices configured to information in the HE-SIG-A field of an HE MU PPDU to understand the configuration of the HE-SIG-B field when using full bandwidth MU-MIMO. This challenge is part of Unified’s Wi-Fi zone and was the fourth reexamination filing against Wilus this year.
