DynaIP entity, Err Content, media casting patent challenged

On December 23, 2024, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 10,721,542, owned and asserted by Err Content IP LLC, an NPE and entity of Pueblo Nuevo/DynaIP. The '542 patent generally relates to providing main content and extra content to a user through a reference item. It has been asserted against Panasonic, Hisense, Spotify, Roku, Comcast, LG Electronics, and Amazon.

$2,000 for Morris Routing network patent prior art

Unified Patents added a new PATROLL contest, with a $2,000 cash prize, seeking prior art on at least claim 1 of U.S. Patent 12,058,042, owned by Morris Routing Technologies, LLC, an NPE. The ‘042 patent relates to routing methods, systems, and computer program products to improve network path protocol address identification and management. It has been asserted against Verizon, Samsung, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

Longhorn Automotive wireless communications patent prior art found

Unified is pleased to announce prior art has been found on U.S. Patent 7,513,238, owned by Longhorn Automotive Group, LLC, an entity of Alpha Alpha Intellectual Partners LLC. The ‘238 patent focuses on improvements in wireless communication technology, specifically addressing the efficient usage and allocation of time resources in various scenarios, such as peer-to-peer and coordinated time division multiple access within IEEE 802.11 standards (e.g., 802.11be). It has been asserted against Volkswagen, Mazda, Mitsubishi Group, Volvo, Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan.

e-Beacon location detection patent challenged

On December 20, 2024, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 8,515,386, owned and asserted by e-Beacon LLC, an NPE and entity of Eric Zautner. The '386 patent is directed to using multiple location detection techniques to locate a VoIP phone in an emergency scenario and transmitting that location to emergency services. It has been asserted against Samsung, OnePlus, NEC, Sony, and Progressive Casualty Insurance Co.

DKR Consulting e-commerce patent found invalid

On December 20, 2024, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) entered a notice of intent to issue a reexamination certificate canceling all challenged claims of U.S. Patent 11,455,678, owned and asserted by DKR Consulting, LLC. The ‘678 patent relates to the generation and distribution of widgets for commerce over the internet. The patent has been asserted against Shopify.
