On May 18, 2015 Unified Patents (Unified) filed an Inter Partes Review (IPR) against patent owner Olivistar, LLC (Olivistar) in order to protect Electronic Payment technologies from invalid NPE assertions. Olivistar claims its patents covers the storage of custom data based on an archived version. Olivistar has filed 21 cases against Electronic Payment companies in March 2015. Unified independently filed 2 IPRs challenging claims 1-8, 11-14, 16-23, 29-32, 37, 47, and 48 of U.S. Pat. No 7,606,843 and challenging claims 1, 3, 4, 8-12, and 17-20 of U.S. Pat. No 8,239,347.
