$4,000 for IP Investments Group entity, Digimedia Tech, storage patents prior art

Unified Patents added two new PATROLL contests, each with a $2,000 cash prize, seeking prior art on the list below. The patents are owned by DigiMedia Tech, LLC, an NPE and an IP Investments Group entity. The ‘220 patent has been asserted against GM and Pinterest, and the ‘088 patent has been asserted against Box, Pinterest, CarGurus, and eHarmony.

Submitted invalidity charts must address every limitation of the challenged claim. This may require using more than one prior art reference. Each PATROLL researcher can generate up to 30 invalidity claim charts per month using Pearl. These charts can be downloaded then submitted to PATROLL.

Dynamic IP Deals entity, AK Meeting, groupware patent challenge instituted

On May 12, 2025, three weeks after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims of U.S. Patent 10,180,765, owned and asserted by AK Meeting, an NPE and Dynamic IP Deals entity. The ‘765 patent relates to computer-supported cooperative work, also known as groupware, and has been asserted against Adobe.

Biogy authentication patent challenged

On May 9, 2025, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 7,669,236, owned and asserted by Biogy, Inc., an NPE. The ‘236 patent is directed to the generation and authentication of a one-time passcode in a multi-factor authentication system. It has been asserted against Alberstons Companies, and Microsoft and Okta recently filed DJs of noninfringement against Biogy.

Blue Wave IP entity, Edge Networking, cloud patent challenged

On May 6, 2025, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination request challenging claims 1-4, 8, 15, and 19 of U.S. Patent 11,695,823, owned and asserted by Edge Networking Systems, LLC, an NPE and entity of Blue Wave IP. The '823 patent is directed towards programmable network and cloud devices that manage and deploy distributed applications. It is being asserted against Amazon and Microsoft.
