Jeffrey Gross entity, Lattice Technologies, alarm monitoring patent challenged

On March 6, 2025, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 8,098,153, owned and asserted by Lattice Technologies LLC, a Jeffrey Gross entity. The ‘153 patent relates to an emergency response system that cycles through contacts in an order of priority until reaching someone. They have asserted this patent against at least a dozen companies including Alarm.com, Alert360, Amazon, Comcast, and Vivint.

Jeffrey Gross entity, Hyperquery, application search patent challenge instituted

On December 17, 2024, six weeks after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on all challenged claims of U.S. Patent 9,529,918, owned and asserted by Hyperquery LLC, an NPE and entity of Jeffrey M. Gross. The ‘918 patent relates to a system and method for searching for apps in a central repository based on the intent of the user. It has been asserted over ten times, with current cases against Sony and Roku.

The ‘918 patent relates to a system and method for searching for apps in a central repository based on the intent of the user. It has been asserted over ten times, with current cases against Sony, Nintendo, Roku, and Amazon.

$2,000 for Jeffrey M. Gross entity, GeoSymm Ventures, automated assistance patent prior art

A new PATROLL contest, with a $2,000 cash prize, was added seeking prior art on at least claim 1 of U.S. Patent 9,130,900, owned by GeoSymm Ventures LLC, an NPE and entity of Jeffrey M. Gross. The ‘900 patent generally relates to a system and method for providing automated assistance for a user using a computing device. The patent has been asserted against IBM and Samsung.

Jeffrey M. Gross entity Compression Vectors video codec patent successfully challenged

On February 21, 2023, the USPTO issued a final rejection of all challenged claims at issue of U.S. Patent 6,731,813. The patent is owned and asserted by Compression Vectors LLC, an NPE and entity of Jeffrey M. Gross. The '813 patent relates to adjusting frame intervals during compression of a video signal and was previously asserted against Axis Communications AB, Cisco, Hanwha Corp., and Intel. This filing is part of Unified's ongoing efforts in its SEP Video Codec Zone. The decision came down less than a year after it was filed.
