Another Wilus Wi-Fi patent challenged

On June 9, 2026, Unified filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 12,150,105, owned by Wilus Institute of Standards & Technology, Inc., an entity of Good Day to Invent, Inc. The '105 patent relates to wireless communication terminals and signaling, and more specifically to signaling information indicating circumstances in which operations based on the  Basic Service Set (BSS) color are not used. This challenge is part of Unified’s Wi-Fi zone and is the seventh filing against Wilus by Unified.

Chargelogic EV battery patent prior art found

The team at Unified used Pearl to successfully identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent 10,090,567, asserted and owned by ChargeLogic LLC, an NPE. The ‘567 patent relates to chargers and other technology to control charging, use, user-notifications, and optimization of the battery. It has been asserted against Tesla.

Equitable IP entity, Induction Devices, EMV chip patent challenged

On May 29, 2026, Unified filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 8,370,543, owned and asserted by Induction Devices LLC, an NPE and entity of Equitable IP Corporation. The ‘543 patent relates to synchronization of communication between devices operating in different clock or time domains, especially a processor accessing memory on a different clock. The patent has been asserted against 25+ banks and retailers including Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One, Truist, Costco, Lowes, Gap, IKEA, and others.

Dominion Harbor entity, Bunker Hill, EV battery patent challenge granted

On June 1, 2026, two months after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on all challenged claims of U.S. Patent 9,914,365, asserted by Bunker Hill Technologies, an NPE and entity of Dominion Harbor Enterprises, LLC. The ’365 patent generally relates to a power electronic charging apparatus for rapidly charging a DC energy storage device. It has been asserted against Ford, Toyota, and Nissan.

The team at Unified used Pearl to successfully identify and chart prior art against U.S. Patent 11,328,206, owned by Magma Scientific, LLC, an NPE and entity of Bedrock IP Co., Ltd. The ‘206 patent relates to using deep neural networks to predict and optimize computing-device or processor behavior, especially microarchitecture operations.
