The ‘366 patent generally relates to a method and apparatus in a multi-carrier cellular wireless network with random access to improve receiving reliability and reduce interference of uplink signals of a random access, while improving the detection performance of a base station receiver by employing specifically configured ranging signals. The patent has been asserted against several automotive companies such as Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, GM, Toyota, Honda, and Ford.
