Jonathan Stroud

Chief Intellectual Property Counsel

Jonathan manages litigation, appeals, PTAB proceedings, licensing, and settlement negotiations, legal strategy, and prior art analysis, and prepares, drafts, and files proceedings for Unified.  Previously, he litigated at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP, before the PTAB, in district court litigation, and on appeal, and prior to that he examined implantable medical device patents at the USPTO for 5 years. He interned at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) for Judge Robert K. Rogers, and earned his J.D. with honors from American University Washington College of Law; his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Tulane University; and his M.A. in print journalism from the University of Southern California.  He regularly speaks, writes, and lectures on patent law, and is an adjunct professor of law at American, teaching PTAB practice.


Roshan Mansinghani

Senior Patent Counsel

Roshan initiates and litigates PTAB proceedings for Unified Patents. Previously, he practiced at Baker Botts LLP for over 9 years. There, he had a sophisticated intellectual property practice involving patent litigation, patent portfolio development & evaluation, and patent licensing, particularly involving electronics, software, telecommunications, mechanical arts and other cutting-edge technologies. Roshan interned for Judge William Justice in the Western District of Texas, and earned his law degree at the University of Texas at Austin. He also obtained a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Rice University.


Ashraf Fawzy

Senior Patent Counsel

Ashraf manages legal strategy, litigation, and licensing for Unified, including PTAB proceedings and appeals. Prior to joining Unified, Ashraf practiced at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP for nine years. There, he counseled clients and managed litigation in district court, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and before the PTAB. Ashraf also provided clients with strategic guidance, including in connection with patentability/freedom to operate, portfolio analysis, corporate transactions, and ownership disputes. In particular, he developed an expertise in telecommunications, software, mobile devices, consumer devices, and other electrical arts. Ashraf earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of law and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Jonathan Bowser

Senior Patent Counsel

Jon prepares and litigates post-grant proceedings before the PTAB, and manages litigation, appeals, licensing and legal strategy for Unified Patents.  Before joining Unified, Jon practiced at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney for 11 years.  At Buchanan, Jon litigated patent disputes before the PTAB, district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission.  Jon also provided strategic counseling to clients, including opinions on validity, infringement and freedom to operate, portfolio analysis and procurement, and licensing.  In addition, Jon prosecuted new patent applications in electrical, software and computer-related fields.  Jon earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and his A.B. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lafayette College.  Jon is active in bar associations focusing on post-grant proceedings, including the PTAB Trial Committee of the AIPLA and the USPTO Post-Grant and IPR Practice Committee of the American Bar Association.


Alyssa Holtslander

Senior Patent Counsel

Alyssa prepares and litigates post-grant proceedings before the PTAB for Unified Patents. Prior to joining Unified, Alyssa practiced at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garret & Dunner, LLP for over ten years. At Finnegan, Alyssa provided well-rounded intellectual property services by drawing on her experience in port-grant proceedings, proceedings before the International Trade Commission, district court litigations, due diligence investigations, patent prosecution, and opinions on patent infringement, patent validity, and freedom-to-operate. Alyssa worked on a broad range of patent matters and represented clients in a wide range of mechanical and electrical technologies including network systems, electric motors, cellular devices, vehicular, mining, aerospace, medical, chemical processes and equipment, and defense system technologies. Alyssa earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.


Jessica L.A. Marks

Senior Patent Counsel

Jess prepares and litigates post-grant proceedings before the PTAB for Unified Patents. Prior to joining Unified, Jess practiced at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garret & Dunner, LLP for over ten years. At Finnegan, Jess litigated post-grant proceedings, district court cases, and International Trade Commission proceedings. Jess is also experienced in licensing negotiations, patent prosecution, due diligence investigations, and opinions on patent infringement, patent validity, and freedom-to-operate. Jess’ cases included electrical, business method, and biological technologies ranging from video surveillance systems, Blu-ray disc players, image processing, artificial intelligence, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. Jess earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland (now Francis King Carey) School of Law and her M.B.E. and B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.


Jung Hahm

Senior Patent Counsel 

Jung prepares and litigates PTAB patent review proceedings for Unified Patents. Prior to joining Unified, Jung practiced at Amster, Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP for over 16 years. There, he concentrated on PTAB trial practice, patent litigation, patent preparation and prosecution, non-infringement, validity, patentability and freedom-to-operate studies, patent portfolio management and licensing. While associated with Amster, he was seconded for 18 months to a multinational consumer electronics company in Japan where he advised on U.S. patent law and was actively involved in license negotiations, contract drafting and technical analyses. Jung earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School; his A.B. in Physics from Cornell University; and his M.S. in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
